The Best of the Fests :: Body & Soul Playlist (Win Tix)
The most unique festival in Ireland, Body & Soul has weathered the winter and is back to spend summer with us, bringing their best friends to join in the fun this weekend, 18 and 19 June, at Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath. This year’s line-up sees The Field, Plaid, Holy Fuck, Nicolas Jaar, Mount Kimbie, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Delorean and a host of others along with a wonderful selection of Irish artists including Lisa Hannigan, Halves, The Jimmy Cake, Lisa O’Neill, Toby Kaar and Cloud Castle Lake. I have a pair of tickets for one lucky winner. Read on for more….

A regular fixture at Electric Picnic for the last few years, the stand-alone Body & Soul festival was established just last year, and a scintillating line-up and emphasis on a visually arresting, creative environment for both artist and attendees saw them scoop Best New Festival at the 2010 IFAs. As they say, they’re into the little things that make a festival great ::
Dancing under the Stars. Sparkling Conversations in the Hot Tub. Gramophone Grooves. Acoustic Sessions. Electronic Symphonies. Marshmallows on a Bonfire. Glitter Balls. Pop-Up Performances. Lanterns. Lakeside Massage. Twinkling Pathways. Violins in the Rose Garden. Disco Yurts til Dawn. Fireworks. Candlelit Opera. Four-Poster Picnics. Masks. Feathers. Funky Parties in the Woods. Tea Cups at Breakfast. One Hundred Quirky Nooks & Crannies.
Soundblob made a really cool mix over on his site that includes some of the big names along with the Irish artists. This being a bleed-green blog, I dug up a digital playlist of Irish artists on the bill this weekend. Enjoy…if you need any convincing, it should do the trick!
