Flyer :: Talons / Friend? / Overhead The Albatross
Great to see the small-but-deadly DIY promoter Murmur Presents return to the gig scene in top form with a spectacular show this Thursday. Ste has put on some of the finest rock gigs this city’s seen in the past few years and has been one step ahead, booking the first Irish dates for bands like This Town Needs Guns, Silent Front, Pneu, Upsilon Acrux and many more.
This gig is special as we’ll see Talons claw their way upon these shores for the first time with a gig in the Mercantile this Thursday night. Hailing from quiet Hereford, they make urgently noisy instrumental rock and are signed to Big Scary Monsters in the UK where they released their debut album Hollow Realm in November last year on the back of several nice bits that include a split single with ASIWYFA.
Also on the bill are the remarkable Friend? playing their last gig for the foreseeable future and their ElevenEleven labelmates Overhead, The Albatross. It’s set to be a night of masterful melody as the three instrumental bands complement each other with a varied palette of sounds that dive to the delightful depths unique to this type of music without vocals.
